Necklaces

Hi Everyone,
Today I want to chat about Mixed Metals: a major trend, but sometimes difficult to put together. As you may have figured out by now, I wear much too much jewelry on any given day (its just the way I roll), so stacking bracelets is natural, as is wearing multiple necklaces at once. For those a bit more conservative however, mixed metals are certainly doable and are meant to look effortlessly chic. Let me just tell you that I, at first, was completely against wearing silver and gold at the same time...they just didn't seem to match. I have always had a gold watch for the days I felt like wearing gold and a silver watch for the days I felt like wearing gold - this all changed when I received my MK boyfriend watch (above) and wanted to wear my great grandmother's coin bracelet daily. I thought to put the two together and I kind of loved it, so I started adding more bracelets and soon began mixing my necklaces, and even my rings. Here are some tips for mixing silver and gold without looking slightly disheveled: First of all, textures are key - a good mix will host a variety of chains, clasps, and links. Second, it is super important to keep some sort of balance, even when wearing both colors - too many gold/silver pieces will overwhelm the opposite metal and we don't want any beautiful pieces of jewelry getting lost in the midst of others. Lastly, have fun with it! I guarantee that you will not only love the way everything looks, but you will also wear jewelry that you maybe haven't gotten the chance to in a while. Bottom line, mixed metals are in and look to be making themselves comfortable on the wrists, necks, and fingers of women everywhere - embrace the trend, even if it is out of your comfort zone - have fun mixing ladies and be brave!
xoxo,
D
A special shout-out to Robbie, who's birthday it is tomorrow!
I love the mixed metal idea. It opens up so many different ways to rework what you already have. I don't like matching everything,so this trend is perfect for me!
