The Best of the Best: Online Shopping

The World that is Online Shopping
Today, I'd love to share with you a couple of my favorite online shopping sites. As a self proclaimed professional, I shop online like it's my job. Here are some easy-to-navigate, well organized, perfect for browsing websites, all that are sure to bring you great, fashion forward items at even better prices.

I discovered Piperlime three years ago when I was in the market for a great pair of boots that would last me through the winter. I was referred, by another website to Piperlime, a site that partners with GAP, Athleta, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, I assumed that I couldn't possibly go wrong. Sure enough, I typed in my keywords: "high heeled boots"  and up came hundreds of pairs of shoes...heaven. Piperlime is organized and aesthetically pleasing, all the while having a great variation and selection of shoes. This site is for everyone, young and old, beauty queens and tomboys, girls with an unlimited budget and those with more restriction, Piperlime is good, clean fun for the whole family.

The Best of the Best:
1. To the left of the web page there are many links to exactly what you are looking for. (I love "Rachel Zoe's picks" and "Girl on a budget" - there are also often great sale items).
2. If you are looking for something really specific, type in your key words at the top right corner, in the search box.
3. I would highly recommend setting up an account - you get useful promotional emails and great deal alerts.
4. The best part of the whole site is that all shipping and returns are FREE! Tell me that isn't an awesome deal, and believe me, any returns necessary (though there aren't many) are super easy to ship back.
5. Piperlime sends your shoes, packed neatly in a cute box with a lime on it..just when you thought it couldn't get better, they also send you a note, thanking you for your purchase - that alone will put a smile on your face.

I used to be a Project Runway junkie, and what that means is that I payed close attention, not only to the designers garments, but also to things like, what Nina Garcia was wearing and what accessories the models had on with their looks (all of which were, at the time, donated by Bluefly). With this strange attention to detail comes lots of curiosity, so it was only natural for me to google Bluefly and see what this site was all about. Turns out, it is the online mecca of designer clothes, but marked down at least 30% - I was shocked and surprised and in love from that very second on. Since then, Bluefly has become my go to site for all things trendy - I love this site for everything, but it is especially great when looking for handbags and amazing jewelry.

The Best of the Best:
1. Bluefly is unisex, so you can either shop for you and your man, or you can shop for you in the men's department.
2. At the very bottom of the homepage, Bluefly has a section called "Just for Fun" and underneath that heading is bluetube - Bluefly's very own "channel", that is of host to interviews with fashionable celebrities, footage of the latest fashion shows, etc.
3. Again, I would highly recommend starting an account, so that you can "tag" your favorite designers, add clothing and accessories to your virtual closet, and create wish lists.
4. Bluefly has standard shipping that usually arrives in two days at the most (I'm assuming that this depends on where you are having things shipped to, but all of my purchases have been at my front step in less than 3 business days.
5. You can guarantee that all designers are legitimate - read their FAQ's - even though they are marked down to up to 70% off...Gucci has never looked so good.

Take some time to browse - enjoy!
xoxo,
D
